the power of dream, the land of what if and the tooth fairy...

It is amazing how inspiration comes to the professionals of the creative industry. If you go out there and ask about inspiration and how great ideas were generated, you will hear all sorts of stories. I have my self some theories about how ideas come to life. I just sometimes imagine that; behind each idea there is a factory that produces ideas. In this factory there are many small tiny giant living things that produce some big big transparent bubbles. If you look at these bubbles they look transparent but when you come closer to them you can see how many things have inside them. That's were magic comes Idea Bubbles have the power to manipulate in a magical way memories, feelings, pictures and all sorts of inspirations. The main objective that an idea Bubble has is to simplify all the things that exist within and to create a simple powerful idea. If this happens we are OK and fantastic ideas come, if not we have the famous idea killers waiting with their lollipops to put all the idea bubbles that didn't make it, in the idea graveyard. At this point everything seems that has ended for these idea Bubbles, that's not true! The idea angels perform patrols in the idea graveyard and bring to life the dead ideas, it's not a kind of zombie ideas, and it’s just magic that happens.
That was one of my theories regarding ideas; there are many more that I might share with you in future. The purpose however of this post is not to highlight my opinion re ideas, my purpose is to share with you some great time I had today trying to find out how comic feature films are created. My research had some great results. I visited PIxar's web site which by the way is amazingly simple and user friendly and I found some really cool things in there regarding inspiration. For example, Pete Docter the Director of Monsters Inc. As a child he knew there were scary beasts hiding in his closet, waiting to pounce. Years later, his childhood fears made a good basis for a story, and he begun toying with the idea that scaring kids was actually a monster's job. This is how Monsters INC came to life. The Incredible story is a result of Brad Bird's (director and writer) family environment three kids great amount of work make him seek out some sort of super powers. All these examples are a big proof that solutions for our problems, answers to our questions and moreover inspiration and good ideas are hidden somewhere there, no matter if "there" is somewhere over the rainbow, or even somewhere near the sea, we have to seek out for it.
