let's talk about trends baby..

trends is one of my favourite topics, they are actually really interesting and there are many people that seek out what is going to be cool tomorrow. 2007 in my opinion is a Green year, this is quite good becuase it seems that peopel finally undesrtood that planet is on fire! The Whole green thing is going to bring lot of new things in ur lives, maybe apple will this time come up with a Green ipod! (i know they already have one) there is defenately going to be some sort of Green movement like (RED). We propably going to see green cars, buildings, biodiesel fuels, fashion brands going green! like diesel did, politicians being environmentalists, maybe citroen will come up with Frog II in green, absolutely a green song, Greenpeace, Formula 1 car by hnda without ads just showing the planet.. and many many many more green trends will pop up this year, who knows we might see a green terorrism. :-))

thumbs UP!

Really really really Good!

Talking about Viral

Speaking about Virals there is one of my favorites really funny and well made!

Now what's that!

My feelings are mixed at this time, ZOOPPA is a new business that has to do with user generated content, there is a guy that promises briefs and money to people as long as they make virals. It is a quite scary thing he does, although this is an interesting business which in my opinion will find lot of followers. However there is a big objection i have there, and this is about the way that this Italo-American guy choose to market his business: I give you the brief you gime me your ad i give you money. OK mr. New enterpreneur i ave a question for you. What about the idea and the Art within the advertising, what about the creatives, what about the happiness of creation. I don't know i might be too romantic but this thing scares me bit and i think that the success of user generated content so far, was based on the thing that all happened for fun in an amateur way! now that money comes i think this is gonna somehow lose it's Shine! By the way you can "compete" for the best idea @ www.zooppa.com.

Thinking.

There are many people that have a rather romantic view of the world, they are the ones that believe that can change the world, they are the ones that see all other people like friends, they are the ones that try to do things they really love, they are the ones who believe in the power of dreams, they are the ones who ignore the rules and live in their own world. I don't know if they are the crazy ones that Apple commercial features, I don't even know if these people are many or few. All I only know is that these people actually get disappointed every day when they start to realize the real world and not the world they would like to live in, when they see that other people see them as competitors and not as friends, when they look at the sky and see clouds, when they come to a point that seems as a dead end. When they start to realize that they have to leave in a world of Do's and Don’ts, when they try to rewrite the rules and redraw the lines, and the only thing they get is rules and lines again, when they realize that real world, when they realized that some simple things in life are those who matter most and some other "important" things are not so good for them. Actually there are lots of when's in this thought but being pessimistic is not something that characterizes me. That was just a thought!

Ultra fiction! for Advertising

When advertising reminds modern Art. And when human brains express all they have inside them....
Happiness factory, Ps head 2 amazing examples of ULTRA FICTION Artvertising.

When advertising really mattered....

I've read an article in one blog i like very much, the title was rather Powerful:
We are all Doomed!
The title is based on a diagram that's shows peoples beliefs on: "The Adverts are as good as the programmes" in 1991 almost 33% of UK audits agreed with that fact. In 2006 though this percentage is 14%!. My Conclusion is split:

1. Optimistic - The Ads are now much better than the programmes!= Long Live Advertising!
2. Pessimistic - The Ads are worse than the programmes= we are all Doomed....

On this occasion, I would like to dedicate the song above to advertising!

BTW:
Here you can find a cool lyrics generator!

The Factory Girl

That's a really interesting movie, POP art is becoming a trend, Siena Miller is a gorgeous trend and Andy Warhol is always a trend.
Here is the Synopsis: as can be found at the official web site.

The Producers of the film came up with a rather intriguing contest. They give the opportunity to their visitors (UGC) to craft their own movie posters. All the entries will compete for a rather good prize. All you need is Photo-manipulation software and your imagination. Sounds great, I think I’ll challenge my skills for this contest. Good Luck to everyone.

Synopsis

FACTORY GIRL imaginatively unfolds the comet-like rise and fall of 60s “It Girl” Edie Sedgwick, the blazing superstar who came to define both the glamour and the tragedy of our celebrity-obsessed culture. Sedgwick appeared to be the quintessential American princess, with her blue blood, her trust fund and her Harvard education, not to mention her ethereal beauty and vivacious charisma. But she was also a lost and fragile little girl; and when she met up with counter-culture anti-hero Andy Warhol, everything changed. Suddenly, Edie found herself at the center of a Pop Art universe bursting with sex, drugs, style and rock ‘n’ roll -- and a mad rush for fame and fabulousness that was destined to spin out of control.

Arriving into the chaos of mid-60s New York, Edie (Sienna Miller) is taken under the wing of the famously deadpan artist Andy Warhol (Guy Pearce) who sees in her untamed vulnerability the makings of an irresistible muse. Warhol invites Edie into the wild world of The Factory, a former downtown hat factory he has transformed into a bohemian paradise. Here, a rag-tag mix of musicians, poets, artists, actors and misfits gather to create avant-garde movies during the day and throw glam parties all night long. Edie quickly ascends to become the star of Warhol’s movies, an idol at The Factory and a media darling. She is on top of the world when she falls in love with a larger-than-life rock star (Hayden Christensen). But when Edie becomes caught between Warhol’s world of sexy surfaces and her new love, she winds up rejected by both – and once again, set adrift in the modern world.

GO WEB.

If Go Web is the motto, then follow it. According to New York times, and media buying agencies, the growth of UK advertising is roughly 40% per annum and the overall spending for online advertsing will reach 14% of overall ad spending.
The question is "Are we there yet?'.
Yes we are. interactive marketing is no longer just an idea of the future,it is the present, - Yesterday is a History Tomorrow is a Mystery and Today is a gift.. that's why we call it Present- of marketing communications. In my opinion Europe will be the major player in this game followed by USA, China, Russia and India.
User generated content, Virals, Email Campaigns is what makes the whole package. The Good thing about that, is that Internet gives the user the freedom to choose. Users will be able to see whatever they wish. This will raise the bar for the creative product. Online camapaigns in whatever form they come, should be very creative, well executed, and well planned in order to succeed. So what else need to say except: "welcome to the Future"...

JAck JAck

This little baby in the picture is Mr. Jack Jack, for those who remember Jack Jack is the youngest member of the Incredibles family. Jack Jack is a very strong character, although it's a baby the way he looks made Pixar create a series of short-films based on him. The aim of that post is to show how characters can affect our lives. Some may say that Giving life to your problems and asking simple questions like; How will it move, what human qualities it have? or how his character would be, may follow you to an answer. :-)

Modern Ps2 Art

PS2 and ad agency TBWA/PARIS, work together for many years now, creating really unique ads. In my opinion they have adopted a really nice concept and they create amazing print ads that seem more Art Oriented. Some may say they are awkward and disgusting but they are the ones blind to the Art within...

the power of dream, the land of what if and the tooth fairy...

It is amazing how inspiration comes to the professionals of the creative industry. If you go out there and ask about inspiration and how great ideas were generated, you will hear all sorts of stories. I have my self some theories about how ideas come to life. I just sometimes imagine that; behind each idea there is a factory that produces ideas. In this factory there are many small tiny giant living things that produce some big big transparent bubbles. If you look at these bubbles they look transparent but when you come closer to them you can see how many things have inside them. That's were magic comes Idea Bubbles have the power to manipulate in a magical way memories, feelings, pictures and all sorts of inspirations. The main objective that an idea Bubble has is to simplify all the things that exist within and to create a simple powerful idea. If this happens we are OK and fantastic ideas come, if not we have the famous idea killers waiting with their lollipops to put all the idea bubbles that didn't make it, in the idea graveyard. At this point everything seems that has ended for these idea Bubbles, that's not true! The idea angels perform patrols in the idea graveyard and bring to life the dead ideas, it's not a kind of zombie ideas, and it’s just magic that happens.
That was one of my theories regarding ideas; there are many more that I might share with you in future. The purpose however of this post is not to highlight my opinion re ideas, my purpose is to share with you some great time I had today trying to find out how comic feature films are created. My research had some great results. I visited PIxar's web site which by the way is amazingly simple and user friendly and I found some really cool things in there regarding inspiration. For example, Pete Docter the Director of Monsters Inc. As a child he knew there were scary beasts hiding in his closet, waiting to pounce. Years later, his childhood fears made a good basis for a story, and he begun toying with the idea that scaring kids was actually a monster's job. This is how Monsters INC came to life. The Incredible story is a result of Brad Bird's (director and writer) family environment three kids great amount of work make him seek out some sort of super powers. All these examples are a big proof that solutions for our problems, answers to our questions and moreover inspiration and good ideas are hidden somewhere there, no matter if "there" is somewhere over the rainbow, or even somewhere near the sea, we have to seek out for it.
