something different

This post has nothing to do with the usal posting policy that this blog fosters.

It's an observation and opinion or even an odde to my thoughs around the new realities of this lonely planet we live in.

Yesterday i read somewhere that Nelson Mandela, one of the world's last leaders, has turned 90.
However his age, this man's vision and power are still there, it might be fading out but we can feel that this is still there. In 2008 the messages we get from every corner of this planet are not encouraging for the future, poverty, hunger, expensive oil, paper wars and apathy of people to act is something i feel everyday.

People spend more time with themselves than ever, there is a new kind of Social Phobia that reflects to the popularity of the internet the increasing number of ipod addicted people ( i still don't have one ) and many more things that to me feel that we people are entering a self protection mode without seeing what's happening around us.

To me it seems like we are all in a banwagon without someone capable to steer it.
Leaders do not exist anymore, prime ministers are subject for Yellow press news. The strong leaders of the world with few exceptions are driven by their pockets and not their minds.

US it's an empire that's falling down. This is natural to me, if you look back in History every single empire had a beginning and an end. The need for a person that can make the diference is so easy to notice. Great example to this is mr. Obama he is a figure that inspires people, makes people think better and hope for a better future. This of course doesn't stays within the US borders, this goes to Iraq, goes to Guantanamo, goes to Europe, to Afghanistan, to Iran, to Russia, even in the head offices of Greenpeace, every one in this planet has expectations for something better. Usually this can be translated to one single man, one leader that can be trusted as an impartial arbiter of worlds affairs.

Don't get me wrong, this is not an Obama support article, it's more some thoughts to show that the world is in need of Charistmatic people that can lead, inspire, provoke, question and in the end make things better. I'm pretty sure that there are hundreds of Obama's out there that can change the world into a better place.

All these guys need to do is to roll up their sleeves (and the sleeves of their people) and set to work.

that's all some thoughts... of course unfinished as always :)

the poser above is a great example.
